So much depth. Canucks have one of the best prospect pools in the league. Won't be long till the Canucks are among the leagues elite teams again. - hankthetank
Laying on the Sarcasm a little thick. |

Tonight impressed me. Different feel than Penticton. Shinkaruk is a win. I thought Subban was 2-3 years out; now I'm thinking 1-2. |

Subban was terrific. Every Cup winning team needs that stud d-man. Chicago has Keith, Kings have Doughty. Canucks look to have found that guy in Subban. The prospect pool still features a lot of high end offensive guys, but Subban and Cedarholm will be a formidable duo on D, especially with Tanev and Corrado playing behind them as the second pairing. |

Yeah it is nice to finally have a decent prospect pool again, but it is not one of the best prospect pools in the NHL. |

But timing wise, it does strike a nice balance, we could very well retire our core with a solid upcoming bunch if we don't trade them off. Chicago (from what I'm told, don't follow to close) has surprisingly little in the cupboard: what they had, they use- Saad, Shaw, B Smith. Let old-whats-his-name walk to get a contract elsewhere.
Detroit -who is long in the tooth for the best farm system-now by default has the better half of the Griffins, wearing the winged wheel. Arguably, not ready for the big show just yet, sans Nyquist.
Tampa seems to have a good bunch in the Admirals. They will be a threat for sure. Same with Dallas.
Penguins, eh.
The high picking teams (Oilers, Florida) already put their best development guys out there, sometimes a mistake, but they weren't with the option to wait. |

I didnt watch the whole game tonight..... Frankly I dont remember hearing fox' name all night.
From what I saw though, providing there is a terrible explosion over the remaindrer of the pre season games. Vey has a spot to lose. I think he makes this team.

I would put Vancouver at 10-12 range out of the 30 teams. |

Agree. Subban is a win; Tanev to me is like an under-developed Lidtrom light: he rarely makes mistakes, doesn't get rattled, and keeps his head. Bieksa I always look to, to punch someone in the face who needs it; Corrado- the verdict is out. Edler I'd have hoped we'd have traded....he's good, but still. I would have sent him + a 3rd round for like a Paul Martin type. Alberts never did much for me, but I hope he heals soon.. |

When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then it will be done, and not before. |

Vey is guaranteed a spot on the roster the only way he doesn't is if he is traded again. I hope Higgins/Hansen can cover for him because while he looks dynamic I have doubts about his ability to play against NHL size in his own zone. |

I'm looking forward to seeing virt and horvat develop in to a tough line to play against.
kass/horvat/virtanen. thats quite the switch from sedin/sedin/pylon to bounce puck off of. |
